Cats in York

This website has been set up as a tribute to the many cat statuettes and other decorative cats around the city of York.

If you look up while wandering around town, you may be surprised by how many you spot!

The cat up on that nearby roof stalking that pigeon is actually just a statuette – who put it there, and why? And there isn’t really a ginger tom stuck on that window ledge up there, is there?

We have spent a long time searching for the answers to these questions, as well as several others, and now it is all available on the Cats in York site!

Why? Because we love the cat statues as much as we love York!

And we want the world to know about them! We think the cats should be a source of fun for all the family.

Got children? Looking for new things to do with them that will keep them entertained? Go Cat Hunting! Kids will love deciphering the clues and exploring the world around them!

And you might learn something new about the historic, fascinating city of York, too.

Start Hunting!
